Prolongued jet lag

I'm not sure the title of this post is accurate. I don't really feel jet-lagged, and surely jet lag can't last for days and weeks anyway. What seems to be happening is that my biology seems to have been left at home, at least in one particular area: sleep. No matter what time I go to bed, I invariably wake up around 5 in the morning and cannot continue sleeping, so I have to get up. I have to be quiet because I don't want to wake up the rest of the family whose bodies appear to have adjusted so, what is there for me to do? Yes, you guessed! Write is almost the only thing I can do at this ungodly hours. Needless to say that, this being winter, it is totally dark outside and there is not a soul in the streets. And this state of affairs continues until at least 7 in the morning when you start hearing heavy machinery going (they are resurfacing the pavement and street right where we are.
So, I guess this blog will continue while this jet lag continues. If you stop seeing posts, you will know I am fast asleep!
